Starships were meant to fly.

So many things have happened since my last post! First, there was my solo Taiwan trip. It was awesome! I was just really happy to be traveling around by myself exploring places and glad to be able to go support ET at his competition (and surprisingly got my one minute of fame on TV/youtube now albeit a not very nice one cos I looked so sian from sitting there for 5 hours plus hahaaha)!

I didn’t do a lot of shopping; my aim of the trip wasn’t shopping in the first place anyways hahaha I just wanted to get out of Singapore. So I was really glad to make a trip to Taichung cos I definitely enjoyed Taichung more than Taipei! It was just a lot of walking in Taichung but I love just taking my time walking around even though it was hot as hell. I visited Cingjing (which is awesome everyone should try to make a trip there once!), went up He Huan Shan to see the sunrise (and boy it was spectacular), went to the famous Sun Moon Lake (really really pretty lake view; the water is so clear I never in my life expect to see such stuff in Taiwan) and Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village (interesting if you like to know more about their 原住民 history). I seriously seriously never expect so much from Taichung; the views were just amazingly breathtaking everywhere I went. All the mountains and lakes, I was just really amazed that Taiwan actually has such beautiful scenery. It took my mind off everything and I was just really happy to be there. Taipei is just Taipei hahaha it’s a lot like Singapore actually.

Oh, the only woe of traveling alone to me is not being able to try all the food. I got really full just eating 1/4 of the xxl chicken, which by the way, is almost two times the size of my face. These are definitely my favorites though:

This place is actually at Taoyuan Airport. I was just looking for a place to kill time before checking in and chanced upon this bakery and omg, the muffins/scones are to die for (though the scones that are really to die for imo is from this cafe in Korea, Chloris Tea & Coffee!!! I’ve been craving for it since I’m back) i actually spent all my last bit of money buying all of them and brought back to Singapore.

But of course the best part about traveling alone: meeting new friends :) I’ve met several friendly people and it was just really nice sharing our experiences and every other thing. I can’t wait for my next solo trip already!!

There came my first bonus too! Haahha can’t believe I actually managed to stay in the firm long enough to receive my bonus. Definitely a pleasant surprise cos I really didn’t expect much judging from past history and yays!! Already shared some with mommy heee

And then there was EY team 2 running man! Hahaha it was unexpectedly fun and a really great team bonding session! Another pleasant surprise: my team won!!! HAHAHA I really didn’t expect a win cos the opposing team was leading all the way and I think we weren’t trying very hard to win either. Hahaha but we caught up at the final game: tear name tags LOL and so we got to enjoy a dinner treat at Jumbo courtesy of the yellow team :)

And just last Friday, we had our DnD. Omg can you believe it? It’s my second DnD already hahaha I really thought I would have left EY by then but oh wells, still here. Though the place was kinda meh and the whole event felt more like an offpeak party, the people made up for it. Rather than say colleagues, I think I’ve made some genuinely close friends whom I’m thankful for. It was a relaxing night towards the end with pretty awesome music and company.

OHOH! And finally, I went for my first Korean class yesterday afternoon! Hahaha it’s really hard there are so many things to remember, all the consonants and vowels and what’s not but I’m just really really happy that I’m finally doing something which I have interest in. I want to be in control of my life (sounds ridiculous since it’s my life but it’s actually easier said than done) and I’m glad that I’m starting to do so now :)

I’m in office now, like finally. Been stuck at St James since like forever and am pretty glad that I’m finally back here. The only downside is having to avoid all the seniors and pretending to be busy hahaa actually I AM quite busy. Office is packed with all the new a1s now and it’s quite sian cos I actually attempted to wake up earlier today, reached office at 915am only to find no space to sit at all. Thanks god Tze Hau was around and I just squeezed with him lol

Anyhoos, it’s confirmed! I’ll be headed for Taiwan next Tuesday all by myself! First solo trip, and hopefully, many more to come :) My mom is pretty worried though. She was telling me how I have to upload photos onto fb everyday just to show her what I’m doing and that I’m fine. I’m not exactly excited about Taiwan; more excited that I’ll finally be away from work again heee I wish it’s Korea I’m going to again actually.. Hahahha

So many happy things happened over the past few days/weeks. I bonded really well with my St James clients and I really felt like a part of them lol we went singing at Mono (one of the karaoke bars in St James) on Monday and omg they can really sing! I was so amazed and shy hahahaa half the times I was just eating (oh and everything was for free! ^^)

Jason came over to Vivo to meet me for lunch on Tuesday before he flew off for Paris that night and omg he’s so damn freaking skinny now. My jaws literally dropped I think. Hahaha no kidding man. I mean, he’s already skinny to begin with, and now?! Haha I think he’s the first person who slims down so much after being an auditor. So envious..

Wednesday I went dinner with the St James people at Seoul Yummy. Budae jjigae ftw!! ^^ Really really miss everything about Korea. Hahaha we have a whatsapp group chat and the St James people are at lunch now and saying that they are short of one person (that’s me hahahaa)

And ultimate favorite was Saturday cos I hung out with Kim and Tham! #Teamhardcoreftw ^^ Hahaha we went to watch Ilo Ilo, some local production which turns out to be pretty awesome. I really like Terry hahaha and I think Kim and I are going to catch That Girl in Pinafore (another local production) tomorrow night cos Tham said it’s really good. It was really nice hanging out. Good ol’ times :) We need to do this more often. Oh, and i really miss school.

i love Korea <3

I just got back from Korea two days ago and am at work now, feeling terrible and wishing that I’m back there with all my new friends. Being back here in Singapore really sucks big time. I can now fully understand everyone who went on exchange and came back to Singapore because I felt like I was on a mini exchange too hahaha was just chatting with Will and Fen Fen earlier on and all of us miss Korea and each other. Sighs when will we get to meet again? I hope they come to Singapore soon so I can bring them around! If not, I’ll make US/Europe one of my destinations next year so that I can go find Will, Julien and Miguel hahaha

Anyways, my Korea trip was daebak hahahaa I’m proud to say I’m now a convert lol i love Korean food!!! kimchi kimbap tokbokki samgyetang etc omg I can eat them everyday! <3<3 the only thing i missed was budae jjigae which is the #1 food I wanted to eat all this while. Damn I must find budae jjigae in Singapore!

The shopping is insane! It’s like never-ending shopping every single day and i’m still not even close to done at all. So many places to go for shopping and sightseeing. The only terrible thing was the weather sucked. It was raining every single freaking day which made it so hard for us to go anywhere but thanks god for underground shopping places! HAHAHA I wish I did more sightseeing though :( which means I definitely have to go back next year!! heee and this time round I’ll definitely be going alone! So excited just thinking about it. And I wanna go back to the place I stayed cos they have the funnest people!!! hahaha a pity I only started hanging out with them like at much later of my trip cos most of the times I was out with my friend till late everyday. 

I also went to watch my first ever baseball match with them. I have to say, the atmosphere was soooooo good! Koreans really do love baseball huh? hahaha Will was telling me no American is ever this excited at a baseball match. Everyone just sits there and start munching on their food lol but Koreans really cheer damn loud it was just an amazingly superb experience!! Next time when I visit America, I’ll ask Will to bring me to a Red Sox match, with my very own Boston Red Sox cap!!! :D

Sighs. Julien was just talking to me on fb earlier on that he finally booked his ticket back to France on Sunday. Hahaha I think he has been in Korea for months. I’m so envious of them, can just take time off from school etc and go travel as and when they want. It’s so much easier living in other countries hahaha sian I hope scoot has some crazy promo soon (damn I missed the 2 cents promo!!) cos I’ll definitely be impulsive enough to make a trip back to Korea again heeee

Feeling really sleepy and tired now. I want the weekend to come like now cos I need to replenish my sleep. Have been sleeping at like 3am 4am plus and waking up at 8am plus everyday in Korea. I only had a day of rest before coming back to work so I’m practically dozing off at work everyday. Also, I went running the moment I got back from Korea and seriously, I really just wanted to die. I thought I would have gained some weight from all the huge servings of heavenly food but guess what?! I lost weight woohoooo I think it’s because of all the walking. There’s like soooooo many steep slopes and staircases everywhere (steep slopes remind me of America :( ) and you hardly see escalators! This is definitely one reason why I love Korea hahahaa cos I get to exercise on the go all the time! :)

I can go on and on about how awesome Korea is but I think I’m not exactly in the right state of mind anymore hahaha damn tired. I think everyone should visit Korea at least once in their lives, definitely an experience not to be missed :) I can’t wait for my next trip already!! BYE

See I knew it!!! It’s Brenda :( poor girl she was crying so hard at the end but I actually thought she kinda deserved it? She’s too naive for survivor. Not a strategist at all but still, she’s a sweetheart. The lone amigo lives to see another day! I seriously seriously hope Eddie somehow gets to the final three and wins survivor! I think both Cochran and Dawn have pretty high chances. I fucking hate Dawn but it seems like people are actually rooting for her. I’m appalled, like seriously. All she does was just crying throughout the show. Damn Dawn if she wins the thing.

This season of survivor is really good I don’t know what my life would be after the finale cos there would be nothing to look forward to :( and I hope Malcolm wins the Sprints Player of the season!! I just went to vote for him but am not sure if my votes got through lol shall try again tomorrow hahaha

Omfg it’s the second last episode of survivor caramoan :( I’m waiting for channel 5’s broadcast at 12am now, gonna watch it with Kim and whatsapp throughout the show lol I can’t believe it’s going to be over so soon it has been my weekly dosage of happy pills lol survivor and running man are two shows that I’ll never miss no matter how busy I am :) but I’m feeling damn sian about it now cos I think Cochran is gonna win. It’s not that I don’t like Cochran. He’s funny and smart but I just don’t think he deserves it hahahahaa sian and Tham just fb messaged us saying survivor is sian already cos he read Wikipedia lol judging from what he said, I think Brenda got voted out.. Hahaha cos i know he hates Dawn and Sherri, doesn’t like Cochran and I don’t think he’s rooting for Erik or Eddie. So yeah Brenda’s out. Sian but I think this small little Survivor group chat is really cute i think we are like the last four remaining people who are still obsessed with survivor lol we should have a survivor season finale party just like how in the states, all the final three’s fans would gather together and watch and cheer for the one they are rooting for though my Malcolm is out :( oh wells at least i still get to see him in black singlet with his awesome long hair during tribal councils :) okay shall come back and carry on when I’m done watching this week’s episode later!

I met up with lili to plan for our Korea trip last weekend and boy, I’m so damn excited about it now! Hahahaaha we did everything from scratch, researching where we wanna go, the accommodation and air tickets to jeju island etc i felt so accomplished cos we did so many things and our itinerary is quite solid now heee so exciting :) and we’re gonna stay at this guesthouse for a few days and I’m so excited about it cos the owner is really nice i’ve read so much raves about him and i actually emailed him to ask him a lot of stuff but he’s so patient, helping me find out all the stuff i need and the best part he’s really fluent in English! lol I really can’t wait to go Korea like nowww but honestly speaking, I wish I went Korea alone now cos it seems really easy to travel around. I was initially hesitant about going alone cos of the language barrier and unfamiliarity and all but man, after all the plannings, traveling alone is definitely feasible! So my plan is to visit Korea again, either 2014 or 2015, and this time round, I’m gonna do it alone!! YAYS :)

Not again!

I think I’m some survivor maniac now. Watched the latest episode on the cab back to office and i just re-watched it again on tv! Hahahaaha i know i know what a waste of precious time but it was worth every single bit on it if it’s for survivor :)

Damnit I was so so so so so bummed that Reynold got voted off :( totally saw that coming but still, it was really heartbreaking to see him go :( the only consolation I could get out of this was that at least Malcolm has someone to play with at Ponderosa now hahaha and finally some blindside! I sure hope Eddie somehow makes his way to the final three though I’m not exactly a big fan of his hahaha but hey he’s one of the amigos so yeah must 爱屋及乌 :) I hope Malcolm wins the 100k hahaa sprint player of the season it’s called I think? I’ll like to think he’s very popular but I’m not exactly sure if that’s really true cos you see, I’m following him and his amigos on twitter and everyone is like a fan of theirs so obviously I’m having this impression that everyone loves them but then again maybe if I follow Cochran and Dawn (basically the other alliance), things may be otherwise hahaha we’ll see. Their bromance is really super cute and endearing i like how they tweet to each other about how they are the three amigos for life etc i hope Probst and Mark Burnett makes a survivor amigos season lol

Honestly I can’t wait for the season finale which is coming real soon and I’m not exactly sure what I’m gonna do when this season of survivor ends :( like seriously, it’s really one of the best season ever. Probably one of my top three favorites. First would definitely be Survivor All Stars which was Rob’s triumphing season ever even though he didn’t win hahah and second was most certainly Redemption Island because Rob was crowned the sole survivor then!! Heee that was a pretty predictable season though but Rob made up for all the sian-ness there was :) and yes third would have to be this season because i really like Malcolm and Reynold!! They are like my Boston Rob #2 heeee oh and btw Malcolm looks so damn freaking hot in the first tribal council tonight him with his long hair and black singlet <3 not many guys can pull off the long hair look; he sure looks good just the way he is now <3<3<3

Man I just finished Survivor and am still feeling damn upset despite knowing the outcome way before that :( saw Malcolm’s tweet yesterday and the first thing I did was to whatsapp Tham hahaha and we were like wtfff :( Jeff Probst said yesterday’s Survivor rating got to an all-time high and everyone commented saying it would hit rock bottom next week now that the nation’s beloved Malcolm is gone. Seriously I didn’t know he’s that popular lol I mean, he’s definitely a hottie to me but I always thought my taste is pretty peculiar? So I didn’t expect anyone else to like Malcolm except me? Hahahaaha but other than looks, Malcolm and his amigos definitely played a pretty solid albeit rocky game cos of players like Sherri and Erik zzz hahaha am definitely rooting for Reynold and Eddie now! I hope some miracle happens man I really don’t like anyone in Stealth R Us. I can’t even begin to imagine any of them winning a million bucks haha THE AMIGOS ALLIANCE FTW! Their friendship is so damn cute though, like they still hang out so often (seems like it judging from their twitter accounts. Yes I follow all three of them on twitter and am totally not ashamed of it hahaha) go Reynold and Eddie!! Malcolm you’re still the best and I’m missing you already :( I sure hope they bring Malcolm back for a third time. Redemption time baby!

Survivor aside, I think I’m putting on quite a bit of weight big time T.T my new client is at Changi Business Park (O.M.G) and they have this awesome drink machine which makes super GAO drinks. Every morning i’ll have like two cups of milo and after lunch two cups of mocha lol even my senior told me to cut down on my intake cos I’m gonna get diabetes really soon at the rate I’m drinking (these drinks are reallyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy sweet :o) okay I think starting next week I’ll cut down to just one cup of each a day or maybe just milo in the morning hahaha we shall see. People wise, my senior and a2 are damn nice I wonder how come I only know them now hahaha sometimes I wonder about all the weird stuff but anyways yeah they are super funny and easy to talk to which makes work a hell lot bearable :) and my senior’s been wanting to intro guys to me -.- hahaha she finds it unbelievable that I’m not attached and keeps showing me all the potential candidates’ fb asking me to choose who I prefer hahaha I don’t even know what to say. She’s just nonsense hahaha but heys i meant it in a good way heeee okay I’m gonna watch the last episode of the Kwanghee + Sunhwa couple on We Got Married now. Getting ready my tissue papers..

Omg definitely the craziest tribal council ever! I’m still in shock but I’m really really glad with how things have played out so far! Phillip was entertaining but I think it’s true when people say he’s delusional. Hahaha like seriously you gotta have what it takes to be cocky in the first place. Boston Rob deserves to be cocky in whatever way he wanted to because he’s good at what he does. Boston Rob is <3 heeee. Phillip's just annoying and arrogant in an unlikeable way I'm so glad he's gone!! I'm sure he's a nice guy but I'm really sick of him and his alliance hahaa so happy to finally see some big moves. Malcolm ftw!! Definitely am rooting for him and Reynold this season. Reynold's cool and he's strong at challenges which is awesome. I really really really hope Malcolm somehow finds his way to the final three man. Hopefully someone, maybe a few actually haha, flip next week else Malcolm or Reynold is most certainly going home :( unless they find another hidden immunity idol again, which I totally wouldn't be surprised at all actually lol it would definitely be another survivor moment hahaa they can just get to the finals by finding and playing their hidden idol every week, it'll be epic hahaha am hoping for the best for Malcolm!! And Reynold too :) hahaa I can't believe I'm still so into survivor after so long. I don't know man people keep saying it's just a lame reality tv show but how can one find it boring with all these excitements going on! Hahaa ehhh oh oh oh eh ah eh oh oh eh ah

Work and all others.

It’s been like six months since I started working officially? Work’s been pretty much the same. Either you’re lucky and get to leave early (by early I meant 8pm) or you’re just down on your luck and leave at past midnight. It’s a huge struggle waking up every morning :(

But i guess the team of people you’re working with makes a hell lot of difference hahaha I really like my current team, especially my senior heee he’s so charming :) i don’t think I’ve really whine much about my current job to anyone even though there’s damn a lot of things to done.

Anyways I just came back from my counselor’s farewell dinner at Au Chocolat. The food and dessert were awesome! Hahaa and thanks god I dragged Tze Hau to accompany me heee cos everyone else there are like seniors whom I’m not exactly close with lol

what a difference a day makes.

was telling Tze Hau on sametime just now that this week is my happiest week of audit life hahaha I’ve been going home at 6 plus everyday :D Tze Hau was like, ‘ISN’T IT FINALS NOW!?’ HAHAHA so far all the seniors I’ve met are pretty slack? lol or maybe it’s really the team 2 culture.. but no leh i don’t think so Tze Hau has been going home at like 12plus 1am everyday for the past one month. hmmm I’m just really thankful that I’ve been pretty lucky so far heee

anyways it has been raining almost everyday it’s so annoying!! but then again I’m glad the rain usually comes in the afternoon. imagine raining in the morning and I can’t run.. I’ll feel like killing myself. Nadirah said I feel like killing myself too much too often hahaha but it’s really true, I can’t imagine the day when I’m so old I can’t even run. What’s gonna happen to me then :(

I remember in the past, I used to question all my working friends why they rarely update their blogs but I can fully understand why now. it’s true when they say once you start working, there’s nothing exciting or interesting to blog about anymore cos your life is basically just work work work :(

also, I haven’t done any CNY shopping yet! I really can’t be bothered hahaha but cos yesterday was the first time in a long time I left work early and also cos my client’s place is at Lavender, I went shopping at Orchard for a while! Got this really lovely pair of heels from Nine West <3 am soooooo in love with it heee

oh speaking of which, I wanna set up my own stall and be a butcher. I just wanna be the butcher who sell the meat, not the one who slaughter the animals though. hahaha after all this long while of going to the wet market, I find the job of a butcher very fascinating and it looks like something that I’ll really enjoy. many times I would stand in the long queue and look at the butcher slice the various parts and think to myself, ‘this is so much fun, way better than an auditor’ hahahaa told my mommy about it and she was like -.-
